Chicagoland Marriage Resource Center is dedicated to building a culture for marriage in the Chicagoland area. We want to strengthen marriages and significantly reduce the divorce rate within the
Chicagoland area.
Objectives:
The Chicagoland Marriage Resource Center is designed to be a community resource and clearinghouse for all marriage education activities and programs in the greater Chicago area. It is web-based to serve as a platform to offer and expand existing programs from a wide variety of providers with the objective of reaching the widest possible array of participants.
Immediate Objective:
To design, develop, and operate a comprehensive web-based resource center to serve as the umbrella structure to offer resources from:

Faith-based organizations from various traditions.

Governmental, social service, and other secular agencies; including institutions of higher learning.
These resources may include:

Marriage education, marriage skills, and relationship skills programs.

Pre-marital education and marriage skills training for engaged couples and for couples or individuals interested in marriage.

Marriage enhancement and marriage skills training programs for married couples.

Marriage mentoring programs which use married couples as role models and mentors in at-risk communities.

Divorce reduction programs that teach relationship skills.

Public advertising campaigns on the value of marriage, and the skills needed to increase marital stability and health.
Goals:

Increase the number of premarital couples who are equipped with the skills and knowledge that will increase their chances of forming and sustaining healthy marriages.

Increase the number of children who are raised by parents who have a healthy marriage.

Increase the number of trained mentor couples who can help other couples through difficult times.

Increase the number of trained marriage educators in the community, and the number of courses available to all sectors.

Increase public awareness about the value of healthy marriages to men, women, children and the community.

Increase public awareness about the skills and knowledge that will increase people's chances of having a healthy marriage.
